• Name & meaning: Raguel (also Reuel) = “Friend of God” or “God’s companion.”
• Sources: Not named in the Protestant canon; appears in 1 Enoch (Second Temple literature) as an archangel over justice, fairness, and the ordering of relationships. In later Christian and Jewish traditions he is associated with restoring harmony among creatures and punishing injustice.
• Devotional emphasis: A shorthand for Heaven’s alignment equity, mutual submission, and straight paths where things have grown crooked ( Prov. 3:6).
