Sabbath for the Land · Rest · Justice · Jubilee
Christ Inc — Sabbath for the Land
Let fields breathe and people rest: cycles of restraint, repair, and jubilee that heal soil, water, and households with public proof.
Summary — Sabbath for the Land
Sabbath is God’s wisdom for land and people: work with honesty, then rest with restraint. We practice fallow cycles, debt relief, gleaning for the poor, and repair of what already exists. Soil is tested and fed, water is slowed and stored, hands are protected and paid, and the ledger is public so trust can grow with the harvest.
- Heart: Mercy over extraction; generosity over hoarding; repentance where land or labor was abused.
- Hands: cover crops, rotations, reduced tillage, hedgerows, shade belts, water infiltration, safe storage.
- Rails: leases, water rights, grazing plans, chemical logs, and monthly disclosures — no fog.
Warning — Common Cons and Greenwashing
Red flags
- Credits over care: offsets while soils erode, wells drop, or workers lack protection.
- Monocrop regeneration: ads show cover crops, but practice shows heavy tillage and drift.
- Compost scams: contaminated loads sold as organic with no testing.
- Land-grab stewardship: partners without leases or consent.
- Volunteer-only farms: no insurance, water plan, or maintenance budget.
Our Sabbath Land Plan — Rest · Repair · Return
- Covenant and inventory fields, water, risks; agree on cycles and gleaning.
- Test soil and water truthfully; build infiltration with swales and mulch.
- Rotate 3–5 years; plant perennial strips; keep living roots most months.
- Reduce disturbance; protect soil armor; manage compaction.
- Plant trees and hedgerows for windbreaks, pollinators, shade, and wildlife.
- Care for animals with planned grazing, water, shade, and welfare audits.
- Observe fallow and jubilee with rest, gleaning, and debt relief funds.
- Ensure safety and labor justice with pay, insurance, and safeguards.
- Publish yields, soil health, water use, costs, wages, and survival rates.
- Keep funds directed to land, people, tools, and upkeep — not brokers.
